Amanda Seyfried is Elizabeth Holmes __the "Disgraced former CEO of Theranos" in First Look at Hulu's 'The Dropout'.

 


The Dropout‘s first photos featue Seyfried sporting Holmes’ signature black turtleneck and dirty blonde updo. Another image provides a sneak peek at actor Naveen Andrews as Sunny Balwani, Holmes’ ex-business and romantic partner.

Hulu released a first look of Amanda Seyfried starring as Elizabeth Holmes in their upcoming series 'The Dropout'. According to ABC News/ABC Radio's Podcast (bearing the same name) it trails the rise and fall of Elizabeth Holmes and her infamous blood testing medical startup. The saga of Elizabeth Holmes and how she duped the medical community with her plan to revolutionize blood testing without the actual capability to do so thrilled viewers when it first made headlines. 

Holmes being a Stamford University dropout, she founded Theranos in the early 2000, secured millions of dollars in funding and put together a high profile board of directors, making her one of the world’s youngest self-made woman billionaires. 

In her business pitches, she convinced some of the tech world’s most influential figures that her medical blood-testing technology could detect major medical conditions like cancer and high cholesterol. However, her empire crumbled when it was revealed that none of Theranos’ tech actually worked. 

The show's official synopsis read “Money. Romance. Tragedy. Deception. Hulu’s limited series The Dropout, the story of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos is an unbelievable tale of ambition and fame gone terribly wrong.”

Kate McKinnon was originally attached to star as Holmes but droped out for unknown reasons and Amanda Seyfried took over the role. This could be amongst the reasons for the delay in the release but finally, it's been scheduled to drop Thursday March, 2022.

INFINITE (Film)

THE MAKING: The film "Infinite" was released on the 10th of June, 2021 on Paramount+. It was originally scheduled for release on theater on 7th August, 2020 but was delayed due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Infinite was written by Ian Shorr . It was actually written to fulfill a challenge made by D. Eric Maikranz . The challenge is that a Ten Percent advance would be given to anyone who successfully pitched a film adaptation of his novel titled "The Reincarnationist Papers". Around November 2018, Paramount spoke with Antoine Fuqua to direct the film, the announcement was made on February 2019, and on that same February 2019, it was reported that John Lee Hancock provided rewrites on Ian Shorr's script.
