How I Met Your father (HIMYF); A Reboot?

People have been saying the show is a 'reboot', the co-creater of How I Met Your Father made it clear that It's not, during Hulu Comedy's Virtual appearance on Tuesday's Tevision Critics Accociation Winter Press Tour that; "People keep referring to the show as a 'reboot' and it's not a reboot__it's a standalone sequel"

How i met your Mother series went on for so long that it's a bit surprising that it actually took this much time to have a follow up series, that's pointing to the female version. Although, we can admit that this very version from Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger is actually not the first attempt in the making. We all know that the one thing that got people talking is that Hillary Duff- Sophie is now the central figure and narrator, telling her son of how she met his father, just as the name implied. 

With its first two episodes yet to be realeased on Tuesday 18th January, 2022, the story begins in year 2021 where Hilary Duff’s Sophie and her close-knit group of friends — Jesse (Veronica Mars‘ Chris Lowell), Valentina (grown-ish‘s Francia Raisa), Charlie (The Royals‘ Tom Ainsley), Ellen (Space Force‘s Tien Tran) and Sid (God Friended Me‘s Suraj Sharma) — “are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options,” according to the official logline. 

Fryman, who was also the director of nearly every episode of HIMYM, is once again behind the camera on HIMYF. He said “One thing that I can take away from it, having been on How I Met Your Mother for so long, is that this is not How I Met Your Mother — and I loved How I Met Your Mother__ This is How I Met Your Father, and it is so spectacular in its own, right from the first day on stage with masks on, we started rehearsing and instantly knew we had something.”
